Not like it is a demotion, just a different option for him.Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11135558796004211830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8050692851735806688.post-43148434173913237952009-05-26T20:31:24.519-04:002009-05-26T20:31:24.519-04:00He's a starter and will always be one. It would do the Reds no good to have a 23-year old prospect who needs to develop pitch in long relief one to two times at the most a week in the majors.XUhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02773928377029875689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8050692851735806688.post-53609580997668041442009-05-26T15:49:23.079-04:002009-05-26T15:49:23.079-04:00I still think its way too early to judge Homer Bai...I still think its way too early to judge Homer Bailey...he just turned 23 and only has 86 innings pitched in the majors...true he has struggled but i think he is still best in the starting rotation

I dont think the problem lies in his number of pitches cause he has shown an ability to throw the changeup and curveball which he could not do previously...the problem is an inability to throw the ball over the plate...as well as a feeling that he is "king" and can shake off Ramon Hernandez on every pitch....way to early to give up on the kid thoughMatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04625124117047761000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8050692851735806688.post-87954278646639472552009-05-26T15:13:25.772-04:002009-05-26T15:13:25.772-04:00This is what I have said for over a year now. A starting pitcher in the majors cannot live on just fastball location like you can in the minor leagues. I think Homer's future is in the bullpen. I predict that will be with another team, but who knows. I think he could be a pretty succesful bullpen guy, maybe even a closer.Brandonnoreply@blogger.com
