Big East vs. SEC Challenge Matchup

The official release should come at some point today but media outlets are reporting that Kentucky will play UCONN on December 9th at Madison Square Garden as part of the SEC-Big East Challenge. This will be a big time match-up for the 'Cats and will test Calipari and Kentucky early in the season. Kentucky will more than likely be a young team against a UCONN squad that has had a lot of success. Kentucky should have a strong non-conference schedule next year with Louisville, North Carolina still on the schedule. Calipari has also indicated that he will not play a weak schedule and will look to challenge his team so don't be surprised to see a lot of big programs on the schedule for the 'Cats. As this season showed the NCAA selection committee looks favorably on tough schedules.
