Cyclones Win Series in 2OT

This has been one of the craziest series in ECHL playoffs. Going game seven of the seven game series the road team had won every contest thus far, which has never happened in six games of an ECHL playoff series. The defending Kelly Cup Cyclones jumped up early on Wheeling with a Felix Petit goal with 10:15 left in the first period. The game was very physical throughout and both teams played excellent defense. Wheeling was able to tie the game up with a goal off of a Cyclones turnover with 16:38 left in the second period. From there both teams locked down Wheeling only managed 6 shots on goal in the third period and the Clones only had 13. Both teams survived through the first overtime period then finally, only three minutes into the second overtime Matt Syroczynski hit a goal to beat the Wheeling Nailers 2-1. The Cylones advance to the North Division Finals and will take on the winner of tonights Game 7 match between the Elmira Jackyls and the Trenton Devils. Game one will be played at US Bank Arena Friday night.
